The new release candidate of Joomla 1.5 is released as a new step forward to the new stable version of Joomla!
So I have downloaded the file and via http://www.alledia.com/ I found the new SEF patch for this new version as well.
To be honest… I would have rather have these patch functions implemented in the core files of version 1.5, but reading through the documentation at Joomlatwork, I now know it not going to happen before at least version 1.6.
And this brings in so many nice features:
- Optimize your HTML title tag for SEO (Next to normal Title and Alias function)
- Meta description (also for menu items, not only articles)
- Meta keywords (also for menu items, not only articles)
- Robots Meta tag
- Lots more for the basic needs of Search Engine Optimization for Joomla!
What I like most of the guys at Joomlatwork is their commitment to improve Joomla when it comes to SEO.
“Therefore we will support this patch within the coming releases of Joomla 1.5 and higher until it’s included in the main code line.”
And I agree with them, this should be in Joomla! core if it is going to be the best CMS for SEO.
